OIS Relocates Office
(Memphis, TN) – Ohio Intermodal Services (OIS), a member of the IMC Companies family of brands, is moving its Cincinnati office from a 600-square-foot space at 1425 Ledlie Street to a 2,300-square-foot facility at 2801 Spring Grove Avenue. Progressive Transportation Services CEO Named
Transportation and logistics industry veteran Jim Gillis was recently promoted to CEO of California-based Progressive Transportation Services (PTS). Previously, he worked for Gulf Intermodal Services (GIS) from 2011-2018 as regional manager and then regional vice president. Gillis got his start in the industry working for Intermodal Cartage (IMCG) from 1997-2004 in roles ranging from gate clerk to dispatch supervisor to customer service, fleet supervisor and regional manager. Shippers, truckers hit chassis roadblock in Memphis
A coalition including shippers attempting to solve chassis problems in Memphis, Tennessee, has encountered an obstacle in its effort to launch an interoperable grey pool.
Two chassis providers — TRAC Intermodal and DirectChassis Link, Inc. (DCLI) — killed a proposed solution agreed upon by an association of ocean carriers and coalition of beneficial cargo owners (BCOs), truckers, and Class I railroads. TRAC and DCLI contend the interoperable pool isn’t the answer, at least not right now. Flexi-Van Leasing supported the initiative. (more…)

Port Charleston looks to containers on barges as congestions grips Lowcountry highways.
