  • IMC Companies Acquires TRANSInternational System

IMC Companies, a national leader in intermodal logistics announced that, effective October 18, it acquired TRANSInternational System, an industry leader founded in 1973.

“I am impressed with TRANSInternational’s leadership, history, services, values and team members,” said Mark H. George, Chairman of IMC Companies. “I look forward to welcoming their team into our family of brands.”

IMC Companies will be merging TRANSInternational System’s operations into Ohio Intermodal Services, Intermodal Cartage Company, DNJ Intermodal Services and Atlantic Intermodal Services.

With 200 TRANSInternational System owner operators joining the IMC Companies team, this acquisition significantly increases IMC Companies’ truck capacity and further solidifies its position as the largest marine drayage company in the United States. More specifically, acquiring TRANSInternational System significantly bolsters IMC Companies’ presence in the Ohio Valley.

“Like us, they’re a family organization specializing in container drayage and superior customer service,” said George. “This acquisition enhances our existing national footprint that allows us to handle freight in any major rail or port facility in the nation.” To read more, visit The Patch.
