Gulf Intermodal Honors Safe Drivers at Annual Banquet
(New Orleans, LA) – Gulf Intermodal Services honored its drivers during the company’s annual safety banquet held Saturday, April 6 at Drago’s Seafood Restaurant in New Orleans. Drivers and their guests enjoyed dinner and inspirational words from Deuce McAllister, retired New Orleans Saints running back and safe driving advocate.
“It’s a tough job to maintain your rig and keep up with changing regulations, all while staying safe and being away from home,” said McAllister, whose father was a commercial truck driver. “Working hard as a driver is an important, and often unsung, sacrifice made by many to support their families and educate their children.”
McAllister spent the evening presenting plaques, prizes, certificates, bonuses and safe driver decals to Gulf Intermodal’s honorees on behalf of the company. Highlights from the awards ceremony included New Orleans driver James Hopkins, who was recognized as “Driver of the Year”, and drivers Ronnie Burgess and Terrance Magee, who were honored for 11 and 7 years of safe driving, respectively.
“We take pride in our drivers, who do their part to ensure our clients’ shipments arrive in a timely manner, but never compromise their safety principles or the safety of other drivers,” said Will Connell, Gulf Intermodal Services president. “They are fine representatives of our company and deserve to be honored for their hard work.”
